How to Maintain Interior House Paint
Ian’s Property Maintenance’s team know plenty about painting exterior and interiors of homes, but we also know a thing or two about their maintenance too.
Similar to exterior house paint, it is crucial that your interiors remain in the best condition. This is why we have put together the following handy tips to help you keep your interior paint looking spectacular.
3 Ways to Maintain Your Interior Paint
1. Dealing with Fading Paint – There are a number of ways to prevent your interior house paint from fading – or in some cases, getting worse. One quick fix is to install shades or curtains to block incoming sunlight. If you would prefer not to shut out the light, you could also tint your windows using a UV protectant. Although, using high-quality interior house paint should eliminate any threat of fading.
2. Keeping it Clean – The moment you notice spots and stains on your interior house paint, it will need dealing with immediately. Sometimes this can be as simple as washing the wall with a damp sponge and water. However, if this does not do the job, add a bit of dish soap to a damp sponge then wipe the area down.
3.Combatting Mould – Similar to exterior mould; mould can emerge in warm and humid areas indoors with bathrooms and basements more prone. To pre-empt mould appearing, use paint that is mould-resistant. If you do discover mould on a wall in your home, it can be cleaned with a simple solution of one part bleach and four parts water. If the area is bigger then you may need it professionally cleaned.
